"Santa Maria degli Ancillotti was definitely the highlight of our trip. We started in Rome, then took the train to Assisi and ended in Venice. Rome and Venice were busy, crowded and exhausting. The gorgeous grounds at Santa Maria and the superb kindness and service was a welcome respite. We enjoyed it so much we never even left. We had planned on going into Assisi, but the pool, surrounding hills and fantastic food beckoned, making it an easy decision by all (ages 11 to 58) to stay.

Dinner each night was an amazing treat. Each course was more fantastic than the last and fulfilled all my dreams of homemade pasta and a long meal worth savoring and enjoying. Alessio and the family were very kind and enjoyable and we feel like we made friends. We definitely plan on going back and are recommending Santa Maria degli Ancillotti to everyone we know!"
